Three ways to get involved:

1) Become a Chapter Coordinator

2) Become a Chapter Moderator

3) Volunteer with our organization

We are on the hunt for passionate people who want to spread excitement and build their communities.

Our volunteers, Chapter Coordinators + Moderators truly embrace and live the L.A. Foundation values. These incredible people promote inclusivity, encourage, and motivate others around them.  They help bring together women in their local communities to enjoy indoor, outdoor and adventure activities as a sisterhood.

Are you itching to start , grow and support your own local community?

what is a moderator?

Moderators keep our social communities bumping! These individuals post about their weekends, share photos of adventures, highlight motivational quotes , and share tips and tricks. Our Moderators help keep our community engaged, inspired and excited to meet each other after COVID!

As a moderator, your main tasks include:

  • Spread the love: First and foremost, being a Moderator is all about inclusion, empowering others, and helping create an excitement for life. The perfect candidate is digitally extroverted, able to manage a Facebook group, and has a love for quotes, posting photos and creating stoke.
  • Create a safe space: Moderators should keep a close eye on the group to ensure there are no negative or hateful conversations happening within our local communities.

Application process: Email Jessie above to set up a time to chat! Then, once you review the handbook you will complete a quick quiz before we add you to your local chapter as a Moderator!

what is a chapter coordinator?

Chapter Coordinators are the heartbeat of our community. These incredible volunteers create events for their local communities once a month, helping us all enjoy outdoor adventures together!

As a Chapter Coordinator, your main tasks include:

  • Spread the love: First and foremost, being a chapter coordinator is all about inclusion, empowering others, and helping create an excitement for life. The perfect candidate is extroverted, able to manage a crowd, and has a bit of event planning experience behind them.
  • Host free meet ups: As a chapter coordinator you will be responsible for planning and implementing a free monthly adventure encouraging and empowering your local community. These events can be anything from paint nights to ax throwing, happy hour to local festivals, hikes to beach days. This involves creating a local adventure within the L.A. Foundation local facebook group, inviting members, running the event and encouraging and empowering women. These local adventures are voluntary, and you will not be compensated for these events as the participants are not charged to attend.
  • Inspire the stoke: Each Chapter Coordinator will be in charge of their local Facebook group and optional Instagram account. It will be important to keep your community active and engaged through these platforms to help you fill your events.
  • Host National L.A. Foundation Events: Every once in a while the L.A. Foundation will celebrate across the nation with a consistent event. For example, on March 8, 2023 we activated with MEC across Canada. Each chapter would cross country ski, hike or climb - depending on their location. We will take care of the tasks involved, we ask that you lead your group and bring the stoke!
  • Locally connected: You’re open to, or already connected to other ladies in your area. If you are not connected already, you must have ideas on how to reach women in your area.
  • Bubbly, fun and full of energy: Hosting these events does not only take organization, but it also takes effort and a personable nature. If you are are sociable, fun, full of energy, and inviting this would be perfect for you! If you find yourself to be drained by social engagements, think about who you might want to work with and apply as a team! Everyone walking in the door should receive a hello and smile from you first. We want everyone to feel welcome. You seek out those who are sitting alone, or feeling uncomfortable and you make a connection with them. You are able to get up on stage and emcee with excitement, and put on events that go into the evenings, with consistent energy and happiness. You have the goal of ensuring every single person leaves feeling inspired and empowered.
  • Quarterly Town Halls: We ask each of our Chapter Coordinators to join our quarterly Town Halls as these are mandatory update meetings. You will be give two options to ensure everyone can make the time work for them.

Application process: Apply through the form linked above. Once you fill out this form you will receive a welcome email where you can book your introduction call with Kieren. This call answers any of your questions, and shares more about the Chapter Coordinator role.

Then, you will receive a welcome email and volunteer agreement. Once you sign the agreement, you will be added to our dashboard where you can review the chapter coordinator course, and begin hosting events!
